Militarymedia.net - Turkey again made a breakthrough in the design of alutsista, after recently Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) officially showed the prototype of an unmanned and electric-powered attack helicopter, the T629 in a ceremony at the TAI facility located in Kahramankazan, February 25, 2021.

At the ceremony, the T629 was one of three attack helicopter projects launched by Turkish Aerospace. With its unmanned and electrically powered label, it's clear the T629 is instantly turning to attention. This helicopter looks different from the T629 which was first seen by the public in June 2020.

Turkish Aerospace also developed a classic manned configuration of the T629 helicopter. In short, within the scope of the T629 project, they plan to develop two different helicopters in an electric-powered manned and unmanned structure.

The unmanned and electrically powered T629 attack helicopter is believed to be of great use to the Turkish Naval Command. It is expected that later the T629 can be operated by the Turkish Navy which requires an unmanned helicopter platform to be operated on the aircraft carrier TCG Anadolu.

It said the T629 crew tenpa helicopter project began to be worked on by TAI in 2017. Thanks to the T629, one of the three attack helicopter projects that TAI is now working on.

T629-related information is still very limited. The T629 helicopter is only mentioned to have a maximum weight of six tons and has a similar look to the T129 ATAK Tactical Attack and Inta Helicopters. A ton heavier than the T129 ATAK, the T629 will have more ammunition – mainly ammunition for the 20 mm canon and of course the capacity and payload of sensors as an unmanned vehicle.
