Militarymedia.net - The American Public University System (APUS) has changed the name of its business school to Dr. Wallace E. Boston School of Business, to commemorate nearly two decades of Dr. Boston as a C-level executive and board member at APUS and its parent company, American Public Education, Inc.

Dr. Boston led APUS as President and CEO during a period of accelerated growth - both in student enrollment and income. APUS has 86,300 active students (as of 30 September 2020), roughly ten times the number of students at the start of its 15-year term. Dr. Boston, now president emeritus at APUS, previously served as president of APUS until his retirement in August 2020 and also served as CEO of APEI until September 2019.

"Dr. Boston has an unwavering commitment to student success and not only has built our university a leading provider of online higher education, he has helped define the future of online education," said APUS Board of Trustees Alfred M. Gray, 29th Chairman. Commander of the US Marine Corps. "Our Business School is built on this strong foundation, and provides a relevant, accessible and inclusive learning environment for aspiring future business leaders."

APUS Business School has awarded more than 26,500 degrees and certificates. The school offers 51 online degree and certificate programs; 22 degrees are at master's and undergraduate level, including Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).

"I am very honored by this award and I am confident that the school will help students achieve careers that are beneficial to future generations," said Dr. Boston. "I am fortunate to work with so many dedicated individuals to help better prepare hundreds of thousands of students for successful careers in the private sector, public service and military."

Dr. Boston helped APUS and APEI achieve many milestones including successful initial accreditation with the North Central Association's Higher Learning Commission in 2006, the initial public offering on the NASDAQ in 2007, and the acquisition of Hondros College of Nursing (in 2013). Its dedication to making higher education affordable and accessible has earned APUS a good position for the future.

The mission of the APUS School of Business is to prepare students to become principled leaders in the global business community by leveraging technology and best practices that focus on the practical application of knowledge. The school's courses are reviewed on an ongoing basis in consultation with industry leaders from Fortune 500 companies onwards. APUS's undergraduate and graduate business programs have special accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), affiliations achieved in 2011. BA in Human Resources and BA in Management, Human Resources Concentration have been approved by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) so that it is in line with educational standards.

The Business School offers a wide range of associate, undergraduate and master's programs and certificate courses including business, management, transportation and logistics, entrepreneurship, analytics, and supply chain management. All courses cover core topics such as accounting, management, operations, human resources, international business, and economics, to prepare our graduates for the transition in the global world of work.
