Militarymedia.net - The 1,000th Cessna (Textron Aviation) Citation 560XL product has been delivered to its customer, Custom Jet Charters on March 31, 2021.
This dual engine business aircraft is flown from Wichita, Kansas to a customer base based in the northeastern US.
Furthermore, the aircraft will be operated in Palm Beach, Florida and Westchester County, New York.
Textron Aviation said, since receiving type certification from the FAA in April 1998, to date CitationXL has accumulated more than five million flight hours. Almost every two minutes, a 560XL jet takes off or lands somewhere in the world.
The Citation 560XL is one of the many variants of the Citation family that was born by Cessna since 1972. A total of more than 35 million flight hours have been recorded by the Citation family.
The prototype Citation I first flew on 15 September 1969 and later evolved into the Citation II / Bravo in 1978-2006.
After that, it was followed by Citation III / VI / VII in 1992-2000, Citation V / Ultra / Encore in 1989-2011.
Then CitationJet was born in 1993, Citation X in 1996, Excel in 1998, Sovereign in 2004, Mustang in 2006, Columbus in 2008, Latitude in 2015, and Longitude in 2019.
More than 7,500 units of the Cessna Citation family have been successfully produced.
