This giant submarine, known as the “New God of Submarines”, can carry and launch 48 ballistic radar units - Submarine Launched Ballistic Missiles (SLBM). In addition, the Type-100's bow section also houses at least eight nuclear-powered hydrosonic torpedoes. This torpedo is similar to the Poseidon developed by the Russian Navy. This type of torpedo has an infinite effective range and would be very difficult to counter with current weapons.
The structure of the Bekalang section of the Type-100 features an open hangar about the size of a special submarine. A 'sailless' submarine (official designation unknown) has been built in Shanghai, possibly built to be carried by the Type-100.
China's shift to building large nuclear submarines hints at China's obsession with 'playing' the Arctic region. There are allegations, this submarine will play a role to cut the submarine internet cable in time of war, where this tactic can be used to immediately undermine Western economies.
